Fara did not win the JUNO but had good news the day after the Awards Ceremony.
Here is what Fara had to say

"Guess what? So like the day after my Juno loss, I check in to my email and find out that i WON the award for "Outstanding Musical Achievement In A Contemporary Field" for the 2008 FAITA awards.
FAITA stands for "First Americans In The Arts" and is based out of Los Angeles. So not sure yet, but may be heading to L.A. Thank you FAITA for acknowledging my cd, PHOENIX, and for honouring me with such a beautiful award!!

Fara is performing at NEW MUSIC WEST along with Zoe Scott from LA, and Beth Southwell from Vancouver. The VIOLET FEMMES SHOWCASE STAGE is at the LIBRA ROOM on Sat, May 17th at 7:45.
The women from the Violet Femmes CD project will be joined by Australia's The Jilted Brides, a psychedelic rock duo with a video backdrop as part of their performance.

It promises to be an amazing evening of music from this "electric and eclectic collection of women"
